Organic Cheese

Bygdøy Royl Manor is proud to have Oslo’s only farm dairy! We make cheese using traditional artisan methods from fresh, organic milk from our own cows. In addition, we produce yogurt, cream cheese, mozzarella, and ricotta, all served at the Eatery.

Our cheeses are sold in the farm shop at the Nursery, as well as in stores and restaurants around Oslo.

If you would like to order cheese from us, please contact:
helene.austvoll@norskfolkemuseum.no

Organic Sheep Skins

The skins come from the Gammelnorsk Spælsau breed. This traditional Norwegian sheep is unique for its heritage genes. It is a gentle and intelligent breed, known for its strong maternal instincts, relatively high lambing rate, few lambing difficulties, and good milk production.

You can buy sheep skins in the farm shop at the Nursery and in the museum shop at the Norsk Folkemuseum.

Organic Jam

Depending on the season, we sell jam. Our organic jams are made from berries and fruits from the farm in collaboration with Lisa Syltetøy.

Some of the products we make include:

  • Plum Jam

  • Blackcurrant Jam

  • Raspberry Jam

  • Redcurrant & Gooseberry Jam

The products are sold in the farm shop at the Nursery, at Café Arkadia at the Norsk Folkemuseum and in select stores around Oslo.

Organic Cattle Skins

The skins come from the Norwegian Red Cattle breed (NRF). NRF is the dominant cattle breed in Norway and accounts for most of the country’s milk and beef production. The breed was established in 1935 by crossing old Norwegian breeds such as Hedemarksfe with Swedish Red and White cattle (SRB) and Finnish Ayrshire (FAY).

Skins are available for purchase by arrangement.
