About the Course
If the weather is too bad or the conditions are very slippery, we will be indoors and learn about the care and grooming of horses. There are only 6 students on each course. Each riding course contains 1 riding lesson per week. The riding lesson lasts for 30 minutes, including the ascent and adjustment of stirrups. The better parents are at helping, the faster we get going. Feel free to show up 15 minutes before the riding lesson.
The course is divided into 3 levels.
- Level 1: Horseback riding. We walk/trot in the local area. Some hours we will ride bareback (without saddle). When the children are ready for it, we will ride on the track as desired.
- Level 2: Riding on the track and some hiking. Steps and trot.
- Level 3: Riding on a track. Steps, trot, misses and some canter.
Each rider must have one person as a renter. You rent a lead on the left side of the horse. You should always keep a horse's length distance from the horse in front - no more and no less. Remember that horses are easily frightened, so avoid sudden movements and threatening things like umbrellas. Do not let the horse eat grass/bushes/trees on a walk as much of this can be toxic to the horse. It also stops the horseback ride for everyone. It can be an advantage to wear good footwear when renting.
